But I'll use about £50 in electricity, mmmmm not worth it. I gotta leave an 800 watt rig on for something like 6 days 24/7 to &quotmaybe&quot crack it, assuming its using the default key.

OK, I'll add to public projects and set it to high priority:

http://www.md5decrypter.co.uk/dist/

We just need users to participate in order to crack is quicker.

Also, speedyshare wants me 2 register and it can f**k off. Attached hccap onto forum plz.

Thanks,
attached files to my original post. I have a sort of good-ish rig, but BT5 is on my lappy (vmware) so i need to download and install the iso to install on my machine so i can use cuda... problem is, no internet!!!

I'm currently tethering my phones data connection to my laptop which is bearley allowing me to simply surf, so would be good to have a a decent broadband connection until my ISP get there shit together and finally activate me!!

cudahashcat.exe works also in Windows.

now youve just opened a can of worms Is this for dictionary attacks only, or will i be able to run 8 char sets through like crunch/pyrit?

just looking for more info and a 64bit download... looks like it'll be a long night

Edit: just gave it a go and said: Error - no AMD/SDS compatible platform found
Guess normal drivers wont do it... the CUDA drivers are almost 1GB so no chance of getting that over my phone data coonection!

OK, new project added for this on distributed site, 676 parts so any helpers would be great.

http://www.md5decrypter.co.uk/dist/

Priority set to highest so all it's segments will be choosen first.

ok well it seems to be running, but i fear I may have done something wrong as the estimated time to complete is only 1hour and a few min!

so to run 8 digits [0-9] i ran the following command:

cudaHashcat-plus64.exe -m 2500 -a3 capture.hccap ?d?d?d?d?d?d?d?d

currently crunching through 100,000,000 combinations.

lastly, how can i see that all cores (CPU & GPU) are pulling their weight?

answered my own question!

so instead of ?d for digit i used ?u for uppercase..... and now it looks better (100 days lol!!)

i assume ?l is lowercase and ?s would be symbol?

Thanks for all the help on this guys... rare you see this sort of support on a forum

Look at the console output, you'll see options like [s]tatus, press the [s] key. Also, cuda and ocl Hashcats are GPU only. There is a CPU hashcat but its separate app.

Run the apps and put --help on the end

[In your batch file]

cudaHashcat-plus64.exe --help
pause

Yes that's right.

As Blandy has added your .hccap to the distributed section this isn't really needed but if I were doing this crack on my own I would split it up a little.
For example on my system I can do 1 character group per day. I like to do it this way so I always have the option to stop it at a logical place.

So to split it up you could use the following.

A?u?u?u?u?u?u?u
B?u?u?u?u?u?u?u
C?u?u?u?u?u?u?u
etc...

I would put each of the above in separate batch files and not sequentially in the same one. Have you played with -n and - u yet ?

Try -n 80 -u 4096 when testing WPA.

So a full example of the first pattern for you is...

cudaHashcat-plus64.exe -m 2500 -a3 -n 80 -u 4096 capture.hccap A?u?u?u?u?u?u?u

Let me know if that is any faster for you.

I stopped my lappy running the cap when I saw it on the distributed site. Just had a fiddle with your commands and it does improve speeds slightly, so thanks... nothing close to the combos/sec the rigs on the distributed site are running at
how will i know if the distributed site was successful?

Quick question regarding the process of using the online project.

Say on machine is 30% through a task, and then goes offline, does that machine have to be online again to complete the remaining 70% or does another machine start the sae task from scratch?

No, if your machine goes offline, it's cannot resume so has to start again
