Hi

I have a file with the following values:

*File1.txt

asdasdcx22asdas*WoW*sdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd
asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdas*WoW*dasd
asdasdcx22asdasssaxxsdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd
*WoW*asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd
asdasdcx22asdaszxcvssdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd
asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd*WoW*

I want to extract lines that contain the word "*WoW*" inside them:

*Output.txt

asdasdcx22asdas*WoW*sdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd
asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdas*WoW*dasd
*WoW*asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd
asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd*WoW*

How should I do this?

You can just do a regex extraction using ULM

^(.*WoW.*)$

Result ( Regex Regular Expression Tool ) :

asdasdcx22asdas*WoW*sdsadsadsdasdasdasdasdasdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdas*WoW*dasd*WoW*asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdasdasdasdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd*WoW*

How can I put each line in a row ?

asdasdcx22asdas*WoW*sdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd
asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdas*WoW*dasd
*WoW*asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd
asdasdcx22asdassdsadsadsdasdasdasdasd*WoW*

Is there a tool to do this automatically and save the results in a text file? (for large text files)

I just tested this with ULM Gui for windows.

Open it up, click on the icon that says Line Tools.

Select Keep if line contains (text)

Select your file

Click Process

Popup will ask for text, put : *WoW*

Hit ok, another window will pop up and ask if it is case sensitive, make your selection, and it will go through
the list and output a file in the same directory that the original was in.
