hashing isn't encryption, thought it was necesary to make that point since it's an hash cracking forum, unfortunately every new guest is there for its own interest and not for knowledge/learning, that's unfortunate.
I think i is disrespectful for people who help everyone

Hi Clav17,

Thanks for letting me know that a SHA1 is not encrypted, i already know its not and more encoded. But to me i say the word encrypted, each to their own. I agree that a lot of people that come to this forum wanting something and then disappear when they have what they want, at the end of the day this is a help forum where members can freely put a request in for help on decoding hashes. No member has the power for force another member to help, those that do help other members do that on their own accord and that's what this forum/community is all about, learning/teaching/helping. Yes some members appreciate the help they get and will often show that by thanking them and giving them reps. Others that don't well I'm sure they cant expect help again from the same member who helped them last time.

You saying you think its disrespectful for other members to help other members, well i think its disrespectful if you don't help other members, otherwise why are you here? Does that also mean you have no respect for those that do help other members? Its up to the user if they wish to help another member out or not, they are not getting paid for it and they know that. So whats wrong with a decent genuine person helping other members?

Anyway we'll leave it at that. If you feel its disrespectful of other members helping others then keep that to yourself, i wouldn't like to think what the world would be like if everyone thought the same way you do.

Thanks.

I appreciate and commend your desire to help others. Some unsolicited advice:

Part of the obligation of helping others is doing so in a way that sets them up for success in the future.

There are very specific reasons why words like 'decrypted', 'dehashing', and 'reversing' are discouraged. It gives newcomers the wrong idea, and can confuse them for some time.

https://www.techsolvency.com/passwords/dehashing-reversing/

One way that you can help others is to use precise vocabulary.

Avoid the words "dehashing", "reversing", and "decrypting" when talking about password hashes
