Hello all,

A quick question for anyone. I have now built up quite a lot of wordlist from old paste and worldist dumps. Some are big about 48gig and just grounds my pc to nearly a halt. Whats the min and max for words in a list. Do you think a min of 8 to a max length of 16 characters. Reason I said 8 as a start is I can run a bruteforce ?a ?1?1?1?1?1?1?1 on md5 which kind of works. So any info much appreciated.

Good starting point..

...and this

People tend to choose something they can remember, unlike machine generated passwords. You have to define your own expectation of what you'll find and what you never will.

Consider this site alone. How many crack requests are posted? How many are actually cracked? How many characters in the 'founds'? There's a good starting point.
