For hash rates memory doesn't matter, the only consideration may be if you plan to use the card for other purposes such as mining, gaming and the card's resale value a few years from now when the 3060 or whatever will be released.

I don't have a 580 but here are the benchmarks for a 4x 1060 system, just average out the numbers and you'll get a rough estimate of what to expect.

Here's my RX 580 benchmark (-w 3). Not sure what's up with the driver, I'm sure you can fix it somehow though...

I must mention on fast algo's you will not get this speed on a wordlist run. Amd's 400/500 architecture does not like wordlists.

However I do have the benifit of having 4GB VRAM. 2GB of md5's load without any issue.

I have the 3gb version, and performs equal to the 6 gb model. In any version go with founders.

For single hash attacks or small hash lists the amount of VRAM indeed does not matter.

More VRAM is needed for loading bigger hashlists, more rules, and gaming though.

xaddo

That's WPA-EAPOL-PMK speed. You need to also post WPA-EAPOL-PBKDF2 speed as its a low slower and is usually what we get from scanning wifi.

That would have been s useful comment except xaddo posted both WPA-EAPOL-PBKDF2
and WPA-EAPOL-PMK benchmark anyway

Hi, I sold the 3GB versions that I had of the 1060 and have the chance of buying a 6GB model for 170 or a RX 580 for just 100, both new, any experience of any user with any of them?

I own a RX 580 8GB. The wordlist attack speed on fast algo's is pretty bad compared to what team green brings.

Bruteforce power is good tho. And 4GB of VRAM available for cracking which is nice
