Why 690's? Those are Kepler iirc.

I have it since some years and usually I don't update too frequently my hardware ...but if you want to give me something better, you are welcome :P

Its not a case problem, its a heat / airflow issue. Having the GPUs right-next to each other is no good as the heat from one GPU is drawn into the fans of the next one. Add to that the heat inside the case!

No no no... the case is not the issue. My solution works perfectly as it allows all the heat to dissipate into the air without "cooking" everything else.

Good point but you could always use liquid cooling, as well as the fans. Couldn't you?

Watercooling would allow for everything to be much more compact. But it can get quite costly initially.

Liquid cooling is not an option for me due to the epic cost of doing it. I would love to do it but it costs too much, especially for 4x GPUs.

I've updated their post so its smaller now full list is still available via paste link. I notice my 4x GTX 1070 beat your 3x GTX 1080 hehe

Lol, growing sad when I see all your rigs and speeds.

I'm on a 3-4 year old laptop with an AMD A8 3520 APU CPU and with an AMD Radeon HD 6620G & AMD Radeon HD 7400M series graphic card (according to device control). Only thing I upgraded is an 250 GB SSD as main HDD and swapped the dvd drive with the original 750 GB HDD.

Hashcat gives:

Device #1: BeaverCreek, 512/2047 MB allocatable, 5MCU
Device #2: Caicos, 512/1024 MB allocatable, 2MCU

sha speed
Speed.Dev.#1....: 187.8 MH/s (102.14ms)
Speed.Dev.#2....: 90247.0 KH/s (63.92ms)
Speed.Dev.#*....: 278.0 MH/s

Does anybody know why it says BeaverCreek and Caicos?

I have 2x dedicated cracking rigs, both have 4x AMD 7970.

So before your upgrade, you used 2 RIGs to crack? (Pls bear with the n00b) How's that work?

All my PCI-E risers were from ebay. Just buy extra in-case of any failures. I have 2 types:

Type 1:
Full x16-to-x16 ribbon risers, (note that the length of these range from 10cm to 25cm. Make sure you get them long enough for your purposes). You are restricted where you can put the cards tbh. You need to make a custom frame to hold the cards. I use Meccano works perfectly.

Type 2:
USB3 x1-to-x16 risers, (these are much easier to use but, you will be only using x1 PCI-E speed. Does not affect brute-force but does affect wordlist + rule speed).
